Somehsa Geosciences (SMG), incorporated in 1995, provides geotechnical engineering, consulting, survey, inspection and specialized testing services e.g. pile monitoring, primarily for the offshore exploration and construction industry.

It is our quality policy to seek and serve only those clients with a commitment to safety, quality and reliability, notwithstanding their high expectation of cost efficiency. We have achieved, and will continue with, this policy through innovation, simplicity and team work. To make this total quality concept possible, we only commit to a few selected projects at any time, thus assuring our clients of the fullest attention of our project engineers.

Our main strength is the regional experience, of our key personnel. Together, three of them have combined experience of over 40 years with leading international geoscience firms.

Some of our accomplishments in the last ten years include platform soil surveys in shallow to deep-water (3,400 ft), jack-up rig foundation studies (over 150 sites), pile monitoring (over 250 platforms) including underwater pile monitoring, QA/QC inspection and supervision of soil surveys (geotechnical and geophysical), pile design and drivability studies, mudmat design, jack-up foundation interaction and extraction studies and Geographical Information Systems.

Most of the work were performed within the Asia region although some projects were in the Middle-East, South America and West Africa. Our owner-clients include Agip, Atlantic Richfield, British Gas, Chevron, Conoco, CUU-Long, Lundin, Esso, Marathon, Pecten, Petronas, Shell (SSB / BSP), Texaco, Hoang Long, Thang Long, Total, Unocal, etc. Some of the work were performed for contractors including EMAS, Global Industries, Hyundai, Larsen & Toubro, McDermott, Nippon Steel, PT Timas, Saipem, Swiber, Sedco Forex, Santa Fe, etc. and some others for consultants.

We have agreements with owners of various vessels to conduct offshore foundation surveys and with selected overseas consultants to undertake special studies.
